January 16, 2003: CIA Iraqi Nuclear Specialist Receives Iraq-Niger Uranium Documents

A CIA analyst who specializes in the Iraqi nuclear program receives a copy of the forged Iraq-Niger documents. He had previously read a copy of the State Department’s analysis of them (see January 12, 2003), after which he realized he had never seen the documents the analysis apparently debunked, and requested them.
