June 20, 2012: 76 Percent of Republicans Support Tea Party; Numbers Far Smaller for Democrats, Independents
In a wide-ranging poll just released by Dartmouth professor Benjamin Valentino, 76 percent of self-identified Republicans say they support the “tea party” movement. Forty-one percent of self-identified independents and less than 10 percent of self-identified Democrats say they support that movement. The 65-question poll was conducted by YouGov from April 26 through May 2, 2012, and surveyed 1,056 respondents. It has a margin of error of plus/minus 3.18 percent. [Valentino, 6/20/2012
