July 15-17, 1990: Iraq Says ‘Oil Theft’ Will Result in Military Action against Kuwait

Iraq publicly accuses Kuwait of stealing oil by “slant drilling” from Iraq’s Rumaylah oil field on the Iraq-Kuwait border (see May 28-30, 1990).
