December 3, 2001: Mayor Giuliani Says Vehicles Contanimated by WTC Dust Will Not Be Returned to Service

New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and NYC Health Commissioner Neal Cohen hold a joint press conference in which they state that vehicles contaminated with World Trade Center dust and debris would not be returned because cleaning the vehicles would be “too difficult.” And even if cars were cleaned, safety would be “inconclusive,” they explain.
