May 27, 2003: Solider Killed Because He Has Given Away Body Armor to Unprotected Younger Colleague

2003-05-27

US serviceman Mike Quinn is fatally shot at a traffic control point in Fallujah, Iraq, during an ambush. According to his friend, Staff Sgt. Dave Harris, he was killed because he was not wearing his body armor. He had apparently given his vest to a young soldier who had not been provided with one of his own.
